I've been playing with various color combos to paint the Ranchero in MS Paint (don't laugh, bucket changes are fast), and some of the GT Falcons FalconHoon linked me gave some ideas. So, here's a possible: Cream +teal (or blue would also work) + red-brown stripe. Thoughts?

No, ford had a name for their robins egg blue, I think it was just light blue. They used that color for a long time.

That's sort of the direction I was (futilely) trying to depict here, just with the stripe as well. The teal-ish I used is a bit too green, I think you're right. I still like more of a cream than a white, and I think that location works well for a stripe, but I'm not sold on the color. Here's another try:

Just a dark blue pinstripe separating the two. White b pillars. Use Wimbledon white.

Your most recent suggestions, if staying pretty much to real Ford colors, would be more or less Wimbledon White/ Wind Blue (or Tidewater Aqua)/ Harbor Blue or Shelby Blue.

Similar to my latest drawings save the shift to more of a white and whiting the b-pillar, in other words. I should note that I do have GIMP on this laptop, but my mad touchpad skillz make for taking quite a lot of time.

Basically, later Mustang comp models and some GT Falcons out of Oz did a stripe+drop accent, and the stripe on this's idea is to kind of resemble that in some respects and close the little gap at the front of the side strip. See:

Not sure what gibberish to put mid-stripe on the nose, maybe a Land Rover symbol in stripe color for maximum troll, or maybe something V8 related.

This was the OG color of my pinto, I'm pretty sure it was just called light blue, but that was in 1976

Apparently Wind Blue and Light Blue are the same thing. Blame Ford marketing.

I would go with the current Mini Ice Blue color. Other possibilities I would consider would be something like Audi Aviator Gray or Denim Blue, VW Aquarius Blue.

That looks like a sky blue to me. Robin's egg has more green in it.
